What Is Fear Anyway?

Fear is an emotion that we all experience. According to the dictionary, fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. But have you ever wondered if fear is as real as it feels?

The Roots of Fear

Growing up with criticism can plant seeds of self-doubt, creating a fertile ground for the fear of failure. This “stinkin’ thinking” can hold us back. But is it justified? Can we trust ourselves to step outside the box and become all that we are meant to be?

Overcoming Self-Doubt

We all experience self-doubt. When I first discovered the law of attraction, I started changing my thinking. I would repeat to myself, “Change your thinking, change your life.” In the beginning, it’s hard to break the cycle of negative thoughts. But simply becoming aware of your thoughts gives you the power to change them.

The Journey to Positive Thinking

At first, it may seem like every minute is filled with stinkin’ thinking. However, with practice and persistence, you’ll begin to replace those negative thoughts with positive ones. Gradually, those minutes will turn into hours, then days, and eventually weeks filled with positive thinking.

Embracing the Mental Equivalent

We all have occasional stinkin’ days because we’re human. But the secret to life is bouncing back and finding support. Is there really such a thing as failure, or is it just a lesson nudging us in a different direction? Successful people pivot. They feel the fear and do it anyway!

20 Healthy Tips for Weight Loss Success

The way a particular person loses weight is a highly individual matter. Two different weight-loss plans may be equally successful and yet have little or nothing in common. You have to find a plan that is right for you. The 20 Healthy Tips for Weight-loss Success found below may give you an advantage regardless of whether you are trying to lose weight or just wanting to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

  1. Eat foods you like
  2. Eat regular meals
  3. Stress “dos”, not “don’ts”
  4. Visualize a changed future self
  5. Emphasize high nutrition density
  6. Adopt a realistic plan
  7. Eat Breakfast
  8. Watch out for second helpings of higher-calorie foods
  9. Watch out for food labeled low fat, they may contain additives and more sugar
  10. Go easy on foods that are high in fat or sugar, replace with gentle sweeteners
  11. Limit alcoholic beverages
  12. Roast, broil, boil, steam or poach foods rather than fry them
  13. If eating meat, select lean cuts and trim visible fat
  14. Plan ahead for snacks of fruit, vegetables or low-fat yogurt
  15. Use spices and herbs instead of sauces, butter or other fats
  16. If using dairy, Consume only organic low-fat or fat-free dairy products
  17. Try fresh fruit for dessert or baked products made with less fat and sugar
  18. Use alternatives to foods as rewards such as long walks, relaxing baths, a visit with a friend, a hobby, gardening or a good book
  19. Keep a food diary
  20. Aim for 60 minutes of exercise on most days of the week; try wearing a pedometer and walking 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day
